Circuit city has announced that is officially going out of business. The #2 electronic retailer has been trying to get out of filing bankruptcy, but after the not so good holidays sales, now they are obligated to close all of their stores nationwide, which means the loss of 34,000 jobs. Going -out-of-business sales begin today, with discounted prices from 10% to 30%. Their markdowns could become as steep as 90% in the final days. Circuit city is expected to close all of their stores by the end of March.
I can't believe how bad the economy is getting this days, i just remember going to circuit city this past black friday to get a 42" tv for Nana, we got it for a good price, but at the same time, naive me thought that somehow it was lil' help and i always believe that one or little by little can make the difference. But in general their holiday sales were very poor, and couldnt help them get out of filing for bankruptcy. The saddest part is the loss of 34,000 jobs, people that will be left with no job, and making it even more difficult for this economy.
