The most boring award show: Up from last year!!!

Ratings for the 81st Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night were up significantly over last year’s telecast, the least-watched Oscars on record. Nielsen’s preliminary estimates show an average of 36.3 million viewers tuned in to the three- hour-plus awards show on ABC, a 13 percent increase over the 32 million who watched in 2008. Oscar ratings are down considerably from an all-time high of 55 million in 1998, when “Titanic” dominated the awards; two years ago 40.2 million viewers tuned in. ABC easily won the night over all.

I wonder why so many people tuned in to watched the Oscars, as we all know the Oscars is always kinda boring, but this year WOW the way they announced the categories and all that was just so boring and LONG......but for some reason people watched the show and they got some really good ratings. I watched the show just because of Rob Patz and Brangelina.....and obviously to see the dresses!!!!

Super Bowl ratings down from last year!!!

Ratings for Sunday's Super Bowl, in which the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals, fell 6% compared with last year's record-breaking matchup between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. Sunday's game on NBC scored a 42.1 rating, according to figures from Nielsen Media Research, compared with a 44.7 rating for the 2008 game on Fox. A record 100 million viewers tuned in to last year's contest, in which the Giants beat the Patriots.

Still no need to cry, cuz the Super Bowl is still the most watched program every single year.... plus they were only 6% down....That's not too bad, not as good as last year, but more than 90 million watching the game, its WOW......

~American Idol apologizes to contestant~

On Thursday, Idol reps issued the following apology:
"We apologize to any viewers who were offended by the misinterpretation of the contestant's comment to 'be careful' upon completion of his audition in Louisville, KY.
"Our visits to audition cities are relatively brief and sometimes regional greetings and salutations are lost in translation. We had not heard that phrase from any other contestants during the day, so it took everyone by surprise.
"We now know better and look forward to visiting Louisville again someday."

I remember seeing the episode, and didn't really think that the contestant Mark Mudd threatened the judges during the audition, but for some reason Paula took it that way.... Bitch is probably scare, after what happened to the fan that kill herself near to Paula's place.

America Idol is still kickin' azz in Ratings !!!!

American Idol continues to be Fox's weekly trump card as the still massively popular talent show left last week's network competition in the ratings dust in the most important young demographics. In the demo of adults 18-49 for American Idol airings on Wednesday and Tuesday of last week, Idol clobbered the competition with 25.9 million and 22.7 million overall viewers on consecutive nights. As the Nielsen numbers indicate, the American Idol ratings victory helped to put Fox in dead heat with CBS as the top network for younger audiences, which was also supported by a strong Monday night on Fox with House and 24. With the investigative drama Bones relocated to Thursdays, American Idol bolstered support for young Fox shows Fringe and Lie to Me, which follow the new round of wannabe Idols.

Despite losing some of their audience, Idol will still kick everybody's ass in ratings!!! We have Idol for a long long time, i know that there is so much talking on the internet, on how idol keeps going down in their ratings from year to year, but the reality is that they are still doing amazing, taking the #1 and #2 spot every single week.....

What the hell?? Trace celebrities family trees coming to NBC.......really???

Sarah Jessica Parker, Lisa Kudrow and Susan Sarandon are about to learn a little more about themselves thanks to a new series NBC has lined up, which will look into the stars' family trees. "Who Do You Think You Are," the latest venture from former "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow's production company, Is or Isn't Entertainment, in conjunction with the U.K.'s Wall to Wall productions, will take various celebrities through their family trees as they learn about their ancestry, which is often linked to major events in American history.

Ugh, ahhh uhhhh.....really? Well i really really like Lisa Kudrow, and i wish her the best with her new project, but i am not so sure about the idea..... I don't know if i wanna get to know Sarah Jessica Parker's family tree, but we'll see if the show is a hit, which i doubt.

The financial crisis is also affecting the Super Bowl!!!

The financial crisis has forced marketers to cut their budget. General motors and FedEx Corp. are among advertisers passing on the Super Bowl this year for the first time in more than a decade. In May, NBC said it wanted $3 million per ad, 11 percent more than the $2.7 million Fox charged last year...... Big companies that usually get the spots are stepping down, and deciding to not advertise this year, forcing NBC to lower their asking price per ad, Super Bowl spots are just not selling like they have in the past years. Anyways, what were the expecting?? Wake up call!!!!!

No surprise at all !!!!! 'Idol' beats 'Lost'

The return of ABC’s “Lost” was no match in the ratings for Fox’s “American Idol” on Wednesday. The singing competition dominated the night with 25.4 million viewers at 8 p.m., according to Nielsen’s estimates, giving Fox an easy victory but only a minor boost at 9 p.m. for the debut of “Lie to Me” (13.2 million). That new drama, with Tim Roth, did manage to edge past “Lost” to lead its time slot among viewers 18 to 49. For the night, ABC ranked second in that age group but third in total viewers behind CBS, which led from 9 to 11 with “Criminal Minds” (13.9 million) and “CSI: NY” (11.8 million). After a retrospective clip show of “Lost” at 8 (8.5 million), the show’s two-hour fifth-season premiere averaged 11.4 million viewers, a decline of nearly 5 million from a year ago. NBC finished in fourth place.

(Yawning) I'm not surprise at all, common we all kinda know that nobody will ever beat 'Idol' at least for now....even though they are down from previous years, they are still delivering gold ratings!!!! On the other hand, who is watching Lost???? Raise your hands
